Flying From Abroad
Currently, there are direct flights to Pune from Dubai and Singapore. From all other ports of embarkation the closest international airport to IUCAA is at Mumbai (Bombay). From Mumbai, you can either fly to Pune domestic airport or take ground-based transport. Note that flights from Mumbai to Pune leave from Mumbai's domestic airport, not from the international airport. You will have to clear immigration and customs at Mumbai's international airport and then take your luggage to the domestic airport. A free transfer between airports is available. There are also shuttle services at frequent intervals from Mumbai airport that can bring you directly to IUCAA. If you inform us of your arrival details in advance, we can book a shuttle for you. Health
Visitors during the monsoon months of June through September are advised to start a course of malaria prophylactics well before arrival in India. International visitors are advised to drink only bottled water in India.
