2009 Programs for IYA 2009 India There are any national and regional level programmes coordinated by various institutions where you can participate. As these programmes get finalized we keep announcing those here. To supplement these programmes it is envisioned that schools/colleges, astronomy societies and individuals will undertake local activities which will propagate astronomy during IYA 2009. In a country as diverse as ours, it is these initiatives which will ensure that IYA 2009 will be a grand success in India. While you are encouraged to evolve your programmes, suggestions for activities that a local organization can undertake is available here. You may conduct activity workshops. In this workshop you can show the participants how make - A Star dial, A Simple Telescope or even a Spectroscope in a box or show them how craters are formed surface using Plaster of Paris (POP). If you have any doubts please feel free to check with us and if you have some new project do let us know. We will be happy to announce those here.
